About Shanshe Senser

Welcome to Senser Woodcraft, where traditional craftsmanship meets modern design. Rooted in a heritage of master woodcarvers from the Far East, each product is meticulously crafted from premium hardwood, ensuring every item is one-of-a-kind. Our art decor brings nature's beauty into your home, our home storage solutions combine function and elegance, and our tableware elevates everyday dining. Inspired by nature, we capture its beauty in every product, reflecting the warmth and character of natural wood, with refined surface treatments for a sustainable tactile experience. In December 2013, founders Wu Yongqian, Wu Yongkun, Shi Dandan, and FU Hanlin established the Senser Art Studio to explore the possibilities of combining traditional craftsmanship with innovation.

Since its establishment, the studio has been committed to original design and independent research and development of craft and production. Every woodcraft piece of Senser is crafted by the studio, with every stroke of the knife and chisel being a testament to its originality. The studio invites excellent wood carvers and woodworkers to join the team, absorbing the essence of traditional skills and exploring new forms of expression. We cherish nature, carefully appreciate the beauty of every flower and every blade of grass, and use our hands and wood to pass it on to people."

China's woodcarving technique is an important intangible cultural heritage with a history of thousands of years. The earliest woodcarving works can be traced back to the Warring States period. Woodcarving art not only showcases the skills of artists, but also reflects the development of society, culture, and history. Traditional woodcarving art is mainly embodied in architecture, utensils, and artworks, such as carving dragons, phoenixes, lions, and deer.

Many famous buildings and handicrafts in history have adopted woodcarving techniques, such as the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and Big Wild Goose Pagoda, among others. Chinese woodcarving art has become an indispensable part of the world cultural heritage.

Today, Chinese woodcarving art has become a unique cultural form. As an inheritor of intangible cultural heritage woodcarving, the descendant of Shanshe Senser is committed to promoting and inheriting this intangible cultural heritage, continuing the traditional culture through woodworking, and combining modern design to make the intangible cultural skills more closely integrated with daily life.
